Evisions, the leader in data and reporting solutions for higher education, today announced the launch of Dashboard Designer, a powerful new capability within Argos X that enables institutions to build beautiful, interactive dashboards, charts, graphs, maps, tables, and filters using the trusted Argos data foundation they already rely on.
As institutions work to make data more accessible across campus, many face a familiar challenge: trusted reporting often lives in formats that are powerful, but not always easy for every user to explore, visualize, or share. Leaders need clean dashboards. Functional teams need interactive views. Analysts need better ways to present complex data without rebuilding the reporting logic their institution has already developed. At the same time, IT and reporting teams are often asked to support a steady stream of dashboard and data visualization requests.
Dashboard Designer addresses this challenge by bringing modern dashboard creation directly into Argos X. Institutions can create professional, interactive dashboards while continuing to use existing Argos DataBlocks, reports, permissions, and workflows. The experience is designed to lower the barrier to dashboard creation, allowing users with limited SQL knowledge to build useful visualizations while helping free up valuable IT time.
“Higher education institutions have spent years building trusted reporting environments in Argos,” said Jim Farrell, Chief Solutions Officer at Evisions. “Dashboard Designer helps them extend that investment into a more modern, visual experience. It gives users a faster, easier way to create dashboards without asking institutions to start over.”
Modern Dashboards Built on Trusted Argos Data
Dashboard Designer is designed to help Argos customers turn governed institutional data into interactive dashboards that are easier to understand, explore, and share.
Unlike standalone dashboard tools that require separate data models or disconnected workflows, Dashboard Designer is built into Argos X. This allows institutions to create modern dashboards while staying connected to the DataBlocks, reports, permissions, and reporting processes already established in Argos.
With Dashboard Designer, teams can build dashboards that combine high-level metrics, charts, maps, tables, filters, images, text, and contextual notes in one clean, professional workspace.
A Faster Way to Visualize Institutional Data
Dashboard Designer makes dashboard creation approachable for a wide range of users, from experienced report builders to campus teams that need a clearer way to consume and share information.
Users can start from a clean, modern home screen, create a new dashboard, connect to trusted data sources, and build with a library of dashboard objects designed to make information easier to understand. By making dashboard creation more approachable for users with limited SQL knowledge, Dashboard Designer helps more teams create and manage dashboards while reducing dependency on IT for every visualization request.
Key capabilities include:
- Score Cards that highlight important metrics in large, at-a-glance numbers
- Charts, graphs, maps, and histograms that show trends, comparisons, distributions, and patterns
- Tables with sorting, filtering, grouping, pinning, column controls, and custom actions
- Info Cards that spotlight key data points with data-aware labels
- Text Boxes and Images that add explanations, branding, context, and supporting visuals
- Select Objects and Global Filters that allow viewers to filter dashboard data by term, date range, entity, name, or other fields
- Collaborative Notes that keep comments, reminders, and decisions attached to dashboards or specific dashboard objects
- Publishing tools that allow users to share dashboards through a clean public URL with controlled access
- Every dashboard object includes a split-view editor with a live preview, allowing users to make changes and immediately see how the finished dashboard will appear.
Extending the Value of Existing Argos Investments
Dashboard Designer is built for institutions that want to modernize how users experience data without losing the trust, control, and governance that make Argos valuable.
By building directly within Argos X, Dashboard Designer helps institutions:
- Expand the use of trusted Argos data across campus
- Give leaders and functional users more visual, interactive ways to understand information
- Reduce reliance on static reports, exports, and one-off dashboard requests
- Help analysts create polished dashboards faster
- Support broader data access while maintaining established Argos governance and permissions
- Extend the value of existing DataBlocks, reports, workflows, and institutional reporting knowledge
- For current Argos customers, Dashboard Designer provides a clear path to a more modern reporting experience in Argos X while preserving the foundation they have already built.
A More Interactive Way to Share Institutional Data
With Dashboard Designer, institutions can move from trusted reports to interactive dashboards that help users see key metrics, explore trends, drill into detailed records, apply filters, and understand what is happening across their operations.
Whether sharing enrollment trends, admissions activity, academic success metrics, financial data, or operational performance, teams can create dashboards that are clean, intuitive, and ready for campus-wide use.
Dashboard Designer will follow a phased release schedule and requires an upgrade to MAPS 6.14.3, released today. Over the next few weeks, Evisions will roll out Dashboard Designer to all customers. If Dashboard Designer is not yet visible in your environment, please reach out to your Evisions contact for more information. Institutions can learn more or request a demonstration by visiting the Argos X solution page.
